After a series of "Jam Dates" at the now defunct Context Studios a handful of lofi rock sketches formed based around such banal topics as arguing couples on the street and food. The music of Schwervon! grew to represent the celebration of imperfect love through jagged rock minimalism. They were DIY long before it was a marketing strategy, mixing and recording the bulk of their music in their apartment on the Lower East Side of Manhattan where they live with their cat Gummo. They call it Olive Juice Music where Matt also produces music for other bands and operates an online indie music distribution center. Brooklyn, New York City, New York 2009

Supercute! is an American indie pop band from Brooklyn, New York composed of members rachel trachtenburg, Julia Cumming, Olivia Ferrer and Delilah Brierley. The band has toured twice with English singer-songwriter Kate Nash in 2010, released a self-titled EP and two non-album songs. Former member June Lei left the band in late 2010 and was subsequently replaced by Ferrer. Trachtenburg and Cumming are also members of the band Punch, a punk rock quartet. As of 2009, the band remains unsigned.

Rachel Trachtenburg, the daughter of Tina and Jason Trachtenburg and a member of the Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players, wanted to form her own teenage girl band. So, in the summer of 2009, Trachtenburg formed Supercute! and enlisted her friend Julia Cumming as a member.

Trachtenburg had first met Julia Cumming in 2003, the daughter of Alec Cumming, a longtime friend of the Trachtenburgs and a local rock musician living in Manhattan. They became good friends and began playing music together. Julia and June Lei had been best friends since the 2nd grade in public school, so when Trachtenburg sought a third member for the band, Cumming suggested Lei. Ori [Read more]

Originally, the band was named The Oh My God! Girls, but another group already had a similar name, so they changed the band's name to Supercute!. After the formation, the band they won Deli Magazine's NYC "Band of the Month" competition in March of 2010 and as their prize, won free studio time to record an EP, which they self-titled Supercute!.

In November, 2010, June Lei left the band to pursue her education. A blogger criticized her decision and published it in the online music blog, Brooklyn Vegan. This caused an angry rebuttal from Lei's family who then used their control of the band's yahoo, website, myspace, twitter, and other accounts to claim that Supercute! was disbanding now that Lei had left. In addition, the Lei family kept thousands of dollars worth of the bands merchandise they had been storing, including t-shirts, CDs, and hand made merchandise. As of this date, 4/8/2011, this incorrect information is still posted. However, the band is thriving with a replacement member.

After Lei's decision to leave, Trachtenburg and Cumming, the two founding members of the band, announced that they were searching for a third member. Olivia Ferrer was recruited to replace Lei in December 2010.

Supercute! has played at venues such as the Sidewalk Cafe, the Cake Shop NYC, the Bowery Ballroom and festivals such as the CMJ Music Marathon. In 2010, the band toured and opened for English singer-songwriter Kate Nash, a longtime friend of the Trachtenburgs. The band's influences include Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd among others.Rachel and Julia both sing lead and write original songs for Supercute!.
The band released a music video and single titled "Not To Write About Boys" in mid-2010 and appeared in Bar/None Records recording artist Jack Skuller's music video for "Love Is a Drum" alongside Care Bears On Fire as cameos.

The band finished a second tour with Nash as an opening act, this time in Europe, that started in early September and ended in early October. After the tour was completed, the band released two new songs for download on their Bandcamp page, titled "Dumb-Dumbs" and "Dreamscicle".

In an interview for Bullett Magazine, Trachtenburg stated Kate Nash has interest in helping produce Supercute!'s next record.[5] It was later confirmed by the band that they are finishing up their first album in London in the summer of 2011 and Nash will produce it.

The band took part in the music portion of SXSW's festival in 2011.
