Hands On The Stereo is a five-piece band from Bergen County, New Jersey best known for its energetic live sets and positive lyrics. Hands on the Stereo released their self-titled EP in June of 2010. After receiving favorable reviews from fans, friends, and critics alike, the band embarked on a two-week East Coast tour with VikingVikingViking. On July 5th, 2011, Hands on the Stereo will release its second EP, Teamwork Makes the Dreamwork. The band streamed and offered a free download of a first single, dubbed "Into It, Over It" as a tribute to the band of the same name, to favorable reactions on Tumblr and AbsolutePunk. A second single, "You've Never Been to South of the Border?" was available for streaming two weeks before the official release.

Viking Viking Viking is a pop-rock hardcore band emerging from Bergen County, New Jersey. Simply formed in a basement with 4 high school kids in 2007, Viking quickly arrived on a more international stage as a full 5 piece group early in their career. With music you can dance to, sing to, and even mosh to, members Dan, Brian, Matt, Alex and Ryan pull off an unforgettable live show.

"We always have something new for each show...we throw out a viking helmet [into the crowd] and whomever wears it is told to do something crazy during our set." explains bassist, Alex Kanderis. Crowd participation is the biggest factor at a live show. "We've had a kid do a back flip." Guitarist Matt Kaprielian adds. It's no doubt that the band has seen their share of crazy fans over the east coast, and has brought out the craziest in them.

With influence from a wide variety of artists; heavy and light, Viking has created a sound all their own. "If we write a riff and it doesn't stick in our heads for a week or two we just scrap it." lead guitarist, Brian Drew says confidently. There is a notable effort in their music to bridge the gap between technical and mainstream, while appealing to both sides of the musical spectrum. "There's a delicate balance between the simplicity of the rhythm and the more complex leads." Their music explains itself live and recorded.

Recognized by fans and fellow bands, Viking prides themselves on establishing personal friendships with all who support them. "We focus on creating a connection with everyone we meet; not for the popularity but just because we're all friendly and like meeting people with similar interests." said newest member and vocalist, Dan Drew. In late 2010 indie label BAL Records recognized the upcoming band and had them sign to their first label. They continue to support all local music and the friends they have created.

"Coming from neighboring towns; we are all really close with each other..." drummer, Ryan Normoyle explains "...even related." Dan and Brian are brothers. Alex and Ryan are cousins. "It's cool to be in a band with people you're so close with." The bond has always been strong between each member, and continues to strengthen itself. Brian admits: "This is the first band I'm in that I am absolutely happy being in." Fans of Viking may come to feel as a part of this connection themselves.

With so much progress in such little time and at an accelerating pace, Viking will soon prove to be another national success worth listening to. They are currently recording their debut album on BAL Records, due in Spring 2011.

1) Standstill is a Spanish indie rock band from Barcelona. Their first two albums were hardcore, sung in English and reached some popularity in European hardcore scene. After those two records, they released an acoustic EP, and since then, they've been singing in Spanish (the last two albums). Their style has changed radically as well, and they play alternative rock now instead of hardcore.

2) StandStill is a band from Waldwick, New Jersey. Their blend of pop-punk, alternative, indie, and hardcore has gained them a large following of people with varied music tastes across the tri-state area. Their debut EP, "Forgetting How to Sleep" is being release in the spring of 2009.

With each member standing at no older than 17 years old, it's interesting the amount of experience North Jersey alt-rock quintet StandStill has gained over their short 3 year span as a band. Taking influence from bands of all different genres and combining them together with powerful guitars, punchy vocals, talented drumming and slick bass playing, they manage to create a sound that combines the innovation of a progressive past with a clear view of the future. In the Summer of 2010, they recorded their debut EP, "All Is Relative" with producer Brett Romnes (I Am The Avalanche) and is planned for an early Fall release date. Backing up their recorded sound with an intense and emotionally charged live performance, StandStill proves to be more than talk.

3) Standstill is a band from Tallahassee, Florida. They are a punk/alternative/indie band that hasn't released anything in a long time. The only songs released on albums were on a split with Polly Esther, as well as on the Punk Rock Xmas CD. Recently members of the band Standstill have been working on new musical projects to include One Small Step for Landmines and AXWY
