Battle Ave. play jangled mangled growling indie rock and roll, calling on the dynamic ebb and flow of 1990?s grunge, the cathartic yelp of Canada's Mercer and Butler, the subtle flash of Television and a consistent nod towards the words of Cohen and Joyce. At once both epic and pastoral (or rather, both titanic and hyper-personal), they play honest and emotive music - amid college, employment, unemployment, starvation, alcohol, moustaches, car crashes, depravity, fiscal crises, boredom, tattoos, 17th birthdays, coffee, and attempts to quit smoking - FOUR FAIR HAIRED MAIDENS SPLASHING AROUND IN EACH OTHERS POOLS.
