Noisycrane
Noisycrane started as a solo project recorded in an apartment in lexington, kentucky on a cassette recorder. In December 2006 a friend of lead singer Cody Swanson, Sean Rose, played drums for a string of upcoming shows and joined the "band" soon after. In April of 2007, Austin Tharpe and Jacob Gahn joined, with Jacob leaving for New York shortly after. In early 2008 the trio became seven with members Jennifer Dolly, James Friley, Chet Gray, and Zephaniah Bostow joining on various instruments. In the summer of 2008 Shayne Bates replaced Sean Rose on drums when Sean moved to Seattle, with Coleman Guyon adding additional purcussion. Live, the band can swell to all seven members or back to just one. They've self released two full-length records and many demos and tour EPs as well as the Bleed Blood Red 7" on ForSkinnySteve records. The band has toured in Ohio and Kentucky and performed at the 2008 Athens Popfest.

Railbird
Railbird are quickly preening their feathers into a sleek, well-oiled, (potentially) gravity-defying carnival car. "If we wake up in the morning," says Kyle, "and there are feathers all over the place, we're like, 'Oh, there's a new song.' " "Sometimes," adds Davis, "she goes on trips on the Railbird by herself and comes back . . ." "With bags of notes," Kyle says, finishing the analogy, "and she spills them out on the floor." - Josh Potter, Metroland
