I'm Turning Into
Add To My Artists

Brooklyn, NY band, I'm turning into, was conceived by childhood friends, Edd Chittenden, Jhon Grewell and Steve Tarkington in Norfolk, VA in 2004. They play with an indie rock/pop/lofi, garage, post-punk group of genres. The music transitions from a garagy punk sock hop, to a Pixies flavored rock or Sonic Youth inspired experimental guitar rock. Or it's something else. The group shares each of the instruments and song-writing duties. All three hail originally from Silver Spring, MD.

Old Monk
Add To My Artists

The two founding members of Old Monk were separated by thousands of miles when they began writing their first EP. It took years of swapping answering machine recordings and exchanging lo-fi demos over the internet to complete. The successful collaboration finally convinced drummer Ian Burns to leave his native Colorado, joining guitarist Joshua Carrafa in Brooklyn. The two dubbed their project Old Monk, and began playing around Manhattan and Brooklyn's underground venues. In need of a bassist, the two then enlisted Tsugumi Takashi and Old Monk became a trio. Joshua, Ian and Tsugumi create frenzied noisy rock and roll, built on solid pop backbones and piercing hooks. Old Monk is currently living in Brooklyn and preparing to release their first album, Birds of Belize in February 2011.

Spirit People
Add To My Artists

Spirit People is a New York City-based experimental pop group, formed in 2010. Their music incorporates unconventional guitar playing, lush and contrasting melodies, sharp syncopated rhythms, and blends pop and folk structures with hollow and distant experimentation.

Spirit People was formed by and consists of three members, who met in college.

With producer Doug Bleek, Spirit People finished work on their first album in early 2011, and will be releasing it through Nana's Records.

EULA
Add To My Artists

Eula or EULA is the name of more than one artist.

1) idie pop
2) goa trance

1) EULA (Connecticut natives Alyse Lamb, Jeff Maleri and Nathan Rose) looks like a beauty but sounds like a beast. Packed with ferocious guitars, gnarrrly bass and pounding drums, this Brooklyn trio's live shows are notoriously energetic, while frontwoman Alyse Lamb's soaring vocal melodies and chaotic guitar playing is a style all her own (she used a can of Tecate as a guitar slide while opening for Mission of Burma). EULA released their debut LP Maurice Narcisse in April of 2011, garnering rave reviews from home and abroad. As stated by QRO Magazine: "This is the sort of rock 'n' roll kamikaze that you expect to hear at your local VFW hall, rubbing shoulders with sweaty straight edge kids sporting Crass iron-ons. In the heavier numbers lead songstress Alyse attacks her vocals like a K9 cop on Martin Lawrence. Gnashing jaws, chord-progressions, fight song fever." EULA plans to tour extensively and will release an EP (their third) in Spring of 2012.
