Pissed Jeans
Add To My Artists

Pissed Jeans are a rock band from Allentown, PA.

The sound of their music is a combination of sludgy bands from the early Eighties like Flipper and My War-era Black Flag and the noise assault of The Jesus Lizard.

Their discography includes Throbbing Organ 7" (Parts Unknown), Shallow LP/CD (Parts Unknown), Don't Need Smoke to Make Myself Disappear 7" (Sub Pop), Hope For Men LP/CD (Sub Pop), and their August 2009 release King of Jeans (Sub Pop).

In an interview with Tony Rettman of Blastitude, Pissed Jeans' singer described their sound and intent with the following: "The idea was to start a different kinda punk band focused on dead ended carnal cravings, sexual depression...that sort of thing. Mainly we just wanted to bludgeon the listener with dull, monotonous droning rock music that just sucks the energy out of you, the musical equivalent to watching a toilet flush."

The Rival Mob
Add To My Artists

The Rival Mob bring a style of hardcore back to Boston, MA that has almost become a distant memory. Playing at breakneck speed, the sound is reminiscent of old DC/NY hardcore bands meshed with big riffs that will stick in your head.

4) Hoax was a German Screamo band, which existed from 2001 until 2005. They formed as a fun punk project but soon turned more progressive. They released their first 8 track-EP "Cell the Kids" in 2004. Shortly before their recordings for the second album, they split up because of internal discrepancies. The members quickly gained ground again and founded the bands Abe Kamui and Nausea.

6) Another Hoax is Malko Van den Borre. He was born in 1989 and started playing drum 'n bass in 2005. Because of he's love for drum 'n bass he learnt quick and nowadays he has already made lots of mixes and showed em live to quite some crowds. He also did a live preformance with Mc Mindless. Because of his growing succes he certainly has a future in drum 'n bass.

Gods & Queens
Add To My Artists

Gods And Queens 3 piece band from Brooklyn/Philadelphia, who tried in vain to blatantly steal riffs and song patterns from some of their favorite bands, like Hoover, Rodan, The Telescopes, Angels Of Light, June Of 44, Lowercase, Spaceman 3 and the like...but failed on every attempt. Instead here are 7 songs that resemble nothing of who or what they were intended to be. Instead a few have said it sounds like a low rent super depressed version of Fugazi, and Quicksand with out the start stop timing, which Jamie is NOT happy about at all, in any sort of the word happiness. The lyrical content isn't nearly as good as Jawbreaker. That's what happens when you don't write any lyrics until 5 min, before you're supposed to record vocals for the songs. There is no target market audience for this record. There is no marketing plan for this record. There is no advertising budget for this record. There is no publicity for this record. No fancy name did the art work, just some kid Doug Foulke, some dude Jason LaFarge (are weapons, angels of light, devendra banhart) recorded it. The band will probably tour the US, and Europe a few times, and break up after two years. You'll be able to find this i [Read more]
