Chain and the Gang is an american band lead by Ian Svenonius, notable as the singer and mouthpiece of various Washington, D.C.-based music groups including The Nation of Ulysses, Make Up, Cupid Car Club and Weird War.

Chain & The Gang put out their first full-length album, 'Down With Liberty ... Up With Chains!' in April 2009, and released the 7" '(I've Got) Privilege' in June 2010. Their last album is 'Music's Not For Everyone', released in February 2011.

Eleanor Friedberger (born September 2, 1976 in Oak Park, Illinois) is part of the indie rock duo The Fiery Furnaces with her brother Matthew Friedberger. In the band she contributes the majority of the vocals both on record and during their live performances. Eleanor grew up singing with her grandmother, Olga Sarantos and family in a Greek Orthodox Church. On July 12, 2011, Merge Records released Friedberger's first solo album, Last Summer.

Although she works and resides in New York City, Dorit Chrysler was born in Austria. She has a masters degree in music, and has chosen to become a virtuoso on perhaps the most unusual electronic instrument of all--the theremin--which has a distinctive sound perhaps known to most people only for the Beach Boys' Good Vibrations. She is also the founder of the NY theremin society and the European theremin association, creating community platforms for thereminists. Dorit has shared live bills with such diverse acts as Dinosaur Jr., Blonde Redhead, Marilyn Manson, Mercury Rev, Oingo Boingo, Rodelius and Echo and the Bunnymen. She has also collaborated and recorded with artists & producers such as Elliot Sharp, Matt Johnson (The The), Larry 7, Gordon Raphael (The Strokes), Foetus, Martin Bisi & Gibby Haynes (Butthole Surfers).

Shilpa Ray and her Happy Hookers play grinding blues, sleazy jazz, and bracing rock with punk immediacy and pop appeal. The result? Something like a vulgar Ella Fitzgerald, channeling Nick Cave and PJ Harvey, and singing her songs before a wall of distortion and thunderous, pounding rhythms. Live shows are already a notorious commodity -- and audiences have been screaming as loud as the band does.

They are currently riding a wave of SXSW buzz which has followed their 7 shows there and preparing for a Spring tour and a Pianos Residency in May. Their debut album, 'A Fish Hook An Open Eye' captures the band's raw and unique sound in 8 solid tracks, demonstrating depth, ability, and emotional scope, eclipsing anything from Shilpa's already lauded past.

But Shilpa is not looking back: 'A Fish Hook An Open Eye will be released this spring and Shilpa and her band will viciously tour throughout 2009.

Two Tears is Kerry Davis' "one lady band" that's been kicking around the world for years (debut album Enjoy Yourself released 2004), sometimes with a rotating cast of supporting musicians, playing a kind of modern garage/punk-influenced rock n' roll that she has described as "Bananarama meets Kim Deal meets '60s garage rock."

Davis has been strumming for 16 years, and played previously with the all-female punk outfit Red Aunts, had a stint as a drummer in The Screws, and was most recently in Beehive and the Barracudas.
