Dirty Mac and the Bumper Crop Boys began in 2003 among the exiled buffalo and kamikaze barn swallows of the black mountain hills of Dakota. What started as a sure-win attempt to be the best band in the valley (including exclusive shows at Chute Rooster, Caretakers, Antiques, and The Pit) led to a slow diaspora in the following years. After some geographical dismantling and reassembly, the band remains fronted by the unimpeachable Sam Williams. Other current bandmates include Chris Zeig on washtub bass; Josh Wolinsky on washboard and vocals; Laura Nesson on violin, cornet, and vocals; Josh Micheal on guitar and mandolin; Emily Fellner on trumpet, accordian, and vocals; and Jason Reuter on banjo. Former members (and members in spirit) include Harold Hynick and Dr. Kato Buss.
