Distractions
Add To My Artists

There are multiple artists with this name:

1. Distractions are a band from Chicago. Their surf/lounge music evokes the sounds of the early '60s; but also possesses the spirit of underground pop rock acts.

The effect of Tom Owens's baritone voice reminiscent of a juvenile Stephin Merritt from The Magnetic Fields, starkly contrasted by dark, atmospheric rock with the raw nerve of noir pop that surrounds it with a jarring blow.

2. Distractions was a British / band. It was made up of Adrian Wright, Pip Nicholls, Steve Perrin, and Alec Sidebottom. They released their sole LP "Nobody's Perfect" in 1980. Of their five singles, they are perhaps best known for the tune "Something for the Weekend".

Ava Luna
Add To My Artists

In an alternate world somewhere, the Ronettes developed three crushes - one for James Chance, one for David Byrne, and one for Aphex Twin - and they all decided to form a band. Yes, sometimes the would drown out the croons, and sometimes the soaring harmonies would make the beats sullen, but somehow they made it work.

The boys & girls in Ava Luna probably couldn't have met but in a New York public high school, and by no means should they have ended up all in one band. But so it goes.

Carlos sings and writes the tunes; Felicia, Becca and Anna do vocal harmonies and dance steps; Nathan plays jagged synth-noise lines, Ethan plays bass and Julian plays the drums.
