Yesterday we loaded into a row boat on The Lake in Central Park and paddled out to witness the awesome performance of experimental composer Iannis Xenakis' "Persephassa," a percussion piece that was performed by six percussionists perched atop boats. The audience and players floated in and out of one another as the sounds of the piece carried across the water.
It was a once in a lifetime experience, for sure, and also a wonderful way to spend a sunny Monday afternoon.
