We were hooked on The Dutchess & The Duke from the first time we heard "Reservoir Park," from the duo's debut album She's The Dutchess, He's The Duke. They've since followed up that 2008 release up with Sunset/Sunrise, which came out this past October. The band's two members, Jesse Loritz and Kimberly Morrison, have a simple approach: two guitars, two voices. But they've got a knack for transforming basic chords and straightforward melodies into songs that are charming, heartfelt and extremely catchy.
These qualities come across both on record and on stage, so we highly recommend checking out the band during their current visit to the city. They play tonight at Union Hall with Medication and Alina Simone and Friday at Mercury Lounge with Medication.
