Yesterday we posted an interview with Paper Garden Records band Darla Farmer, and today we're featuring a quick Q&A with another of the label's promising bands, Emanuel & The Fear, who will also be performing at Multiverse Playground at Third Ward this Saturday. Here's what Emanuel Ayvas of Emanuel & The Fear had to say.
Today is your last chance to enter to win a pair of tickets to Multiverse Playground, so get on that!
You're called The Fear. What are some of your biggest phobias?
Um, not finishing something I've started makes me really upset. Also, not flossing really gives me the willies.
Beatles or Stones?
Beatles. They covered a lot more ground sonically, compositionally and production-wise. Though I think the dynamic of the Stones as a band is better. They probably just liked each other more and they seem to rock harder, which I'm into. But then again, I haven't heard as many Stones albums for whatever reason.
What is one of your most memorable moments as a band?
Any time [trumpet player] Chris [Colletti] invents a new game or proposes a new idea.
If the members of your band were different animals, what would they be?
Jeff is an orangutan. Dave is a cat. Chris is a woodpecker. Gil is a bear. Liz is a hound dog. Tom is an owl. Dallin is a dolphin. Nic is a gorilla. Brian is an ostrich. Dan is a brontosaurus. And I'm a flying squirrel.
Can you describe your band in a haiku?
Do you think they'll fit?
That band just rocked really hard!
Gee I love pasta.
